Just Because

How can you not love this, lego, i take my hat off to you!

Shoes!

Tim and Fiona Slack (T&F Slack) are married to each other and to their love of creating shoes, considered “modern classics” by industry standards. Their collection gives the classic “Gibson” or “Derby” shoe shape new life when unexpected colour combinations, stitching details and fabrications are blended together. You can choose from the perforated Punch Derby in white leather with yellow peaking beneath, or have a custom made pair to order in their Notting Hill Shop or use the simple “build your own shoe” system they’ve created within Selfridges and Liberty. Dedicated to keeping manufacturing local, they make around 150 shoes per month in their factory where old-fashioned machinery is salvaged and customised to create their “modern classic” shoes. With so much repetition in the world of shoes, it’s so refreshing to see a unique and bespoke solution that really does draw the eye downwards!

investment and a magpie mind

at a recent party i was speaking with a bride to be, she was giving a full description of her dress and all that glitters. when i inquired as to what the groom would be wearing a glazed bored look spread across her face " i don't know, i'll look in his wardrobe to see what his got..... maybe we'll hire". first of all, hire...come on! second, it dawned on me that the bride, (who has every right to go a little nuts in the lead up to "her day") has the only garment in the bridal party that would be worn once, it may be worn years from now by an ancestor....as a fellow bride or a halloween costume, but really the dress is a one trick pony, even a bridesmaid dress has the potential to see the light of day again. the groom however is investing in something that will be warn on multiple occasions. fundamentally a jacket and pants can we warn to most things, split or together, even a tux comes in handy hanging in your wardrobe, jeans, t and a tux blazer, easy.

invest!

Can we do it, yes we can!

93 looks, 4 models, 8 hours! Yes, a photo shoot from hell, well actually more like a fashion show marathon. We all got there in the end, no tears, but very tiered feet. Lookbooks done...

a scrapped shot, you can clearly see why.....

TO CATCH A THIEF.

Always impeccable.

TIE ME UP, TIE ME DOWN.

Another skill every man must have!
Ok, so the racing season is almost upon us and a lot of you will be wanting to wear a bow tie.
We have so many guys come into the store who are incredibly unsure, almost scared, about tying a bow tie. When I show them, they are always so surprised at how easy it is.
I say, if you can tie your shoelaces or a regular tie then you can do this.
And come on guys, you wouldn't be seen dead in a clip-on tie so why would you wear a clip-on bow? If you are going to wear a bow tie, please, do it properly.

Check out this link, or pop into our shop and we'll give you a personal lesson.

LE NOEUD PAPILLON.

Looking for something a bit different to wear to the races, we think this is just the ticket.

From our favorite bow tie label LE NOEUD PAPILLON comes their new Spring Summer collection, in-store at Leopold now.
All bows are handmade, Como Silk or Italian Velvet and Limited Edition prints.
